Background

Greg Need is a partner in the law firm of Adkison, Need, Allen & Rentrop, PLLC, in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. He specializes in municipal law, real estate, and probate and estate planning.

Mr. Need is an active member of the Oakland County Bar Association, having previously served as Chair of its Municipal Law Committee for three years. He has authored several articles and publications, including Michigan Zoning, Planning and Land Use, (Contributing Editor and Co-Author), Institute of Continuing Legal Education, 2008 (revised 2024).  He has also been a speaker at numerous programs presented by the Institute of Continuing Legal Education, the Michigan Townships Association, the Michigan Association of Planning, and the Michigan State University Citizen Planner Program,  and served as an Adjunct Professor, Zoning and Land Use Law, at the Thomas M. Cooley Law School.

Mr. Need has a long history of community involvement. He has almost 10 years of service on the Clarkston Community Schools Board of Education, three as its vice president, and currently serves as its president. He served the United States Junior Chamber of Commerce (Jaycees) as Past Legal Counsel, Past Member, National Executive Committee, and the Michigan Jaycees in numerous capacities including President.  He also served as President of Deer Lake Farms Homeowners Association for thirteen years.

Mr. Need lives in Clarkston with his wife, Wendy. They have two children: Samantha and Miguel and two goldendoodles (Duke and Tucker).
